Welcome to The Divine Designer’s Table: Defining Our Terms

BLOG POST # 1 | VOL 1 - ISSUE 1 | NISAN 9

Welcome to the table. As we pull up a chair to feast on "Food for the Body, Soul, and Spirit," we must first prepare the atmosphere by clarifying the architectural language of the Divine Designer. On this platform, we often use the terms Old Creation and New Creation Days, which may sound familiar to those engaged in the "Origins Debate." However, our focus is not on the common conflict between Old Earth Creationism (OEC) and Young Earth Creationism (YEC).

While Western linear narratives often exhaust themselves arguing over geological timescales—how many billions of years versus six literal twenty-four-hour days—the Hebrew narrative style is cyclical and design-focused. We are not looking for the age of the hardware; we are looking for the intent of the Software.

Beyond the Linear: Old vs. Young Earth

Traditional debates like Old Earth or Young Earth Creationism are primarily concerned with chronology.

  • Old Earth Creationism (OEC) attempts to harmonize Scripture with modern geological timeframes.

  • Young Earth Creationism (YEC) emphasizes a literal, recent creation week.

While our focus remains on the Divine Design Pattern (Old vs. New), the framework is informed by Young Earth Creationism (YEC) perspectives, specifically those of Robert Gentry and Ken Ham concerning the age of the rocks, as they clarify the underpinnings of a "Divine Design Messiah Centered Calendar" which may add a perspective to the debate not yet considered.

Our framework shifts from the linear (how long) to the cyclical (how it was designed). In this study, "Old Creation" does not refer to an era of pre-history or the age of the rocks. Instead, it refers to the Physical Shadow—the blueprint of the natural world that serves as a prophetic pattern for spiritual reality.

The Old Creation: The Physical Blueprint

The "Old Creation Days" represent the original physical arrangement and adornment of the world as described in Genesis. It begins with the Day of Disarray (Nisan 1), a state of unorganized potential where the "raw materials" were created but not yet structured.

  • 3 Days of Arrangement (Days 1–3): Setting the physical stage.

  • 3 Days of Adornment (Days 4–6): Filling the stages with life and lights.

This "Old Creation" acts as the physical "Hardware" that was always intended to host a specific spiritual "Software".

The New Creation: The Spiritual Reality

The "New Creation Days" are the spiritual fulfillment of those physical shadows. They are entirely Messiah-centered. While the Old Creation began with the birth of the skies and the earth, the New Creation begins with the birth of the Messiah.

The transition from "shadow" teo "light" is seen when we synchronize these two layers. For example, the separation of light and darkness on Day 1 of the Old Creation is the prophetic shadow of the Messiah’s death, where the "Light of the world" was momentarily eclipsed by darkness for our redemption.

The Divine Synchronization

To understand the Divine Design, we must see how the physical shadow (Old) is brought to light by the spiritual reality (New):

Old Creation Day

Physical Shadow (Type)

New Creation Reality

Day 0 (Nisan 1)

Birth of Skies and Earth

Birth of the Messiah

Day 1

Arrangement of Light

The Death of the Messiah

Day 2

Arrangement of the Skies

The Burial (Entombment)

Day 3

First-fruits of the Land

The Resurrection

Day 4

Menorahs in the Sky

Pentecost

Day 5

Fish and Fowl

The Second Coming

Day 6

Animals and Man

The Great White Throne Judgment

Day 7

The First Shabbath

Entering the New Yerushalayiym

Conclusion: A Lived Experience of the Calendar

By moving beyond the linear debate of "Old vs. Young Earth," we stop being spectators of history and start being participants in a Divine Design. We re-synchronize our walk with the rhythm of the Creator, recognizing that the physical "Appointed Times" or Feasts are the connective tissue between these two worlds.

Pull up a chair. The table is set. Let us begin to discern the types and shadows together.
